“Unpacking Dollar Tree’s Price Hike Again: What You Need to Know”

Dollar is officially no longer a dollar store.

Yes, so, like, the dollar store used to be all about those sweet $1 deals, right? But then, like, they bumped it up to $1.25 back in 2021. And now, it looks like they’ve gone and hiked up the prices on some stuff again. Can you believe it?

I just went to my nearby Dollar Tree and man, I couldn’t believe the price hikes. I mean, I know things are getting more expensive, but these were items that used to be a buck, and now they’re going for $1.25 to $1.50 to $2.00 each. That’s like a 60% jump!

Honestly, this just bums me out because right now, I’m sure a lot of people are depending on basic needs to get by. And while 25 cents to a dollar might not seem like a lot to some, but that cent can add up fast and it can make a big difference for others.

So, I’ll tell you about the Dollar Tree items that now cost more, so you won’t be surprised at the checkout.

Dollar Tree Price Increases in 2024

1-Liter Soda

I saw that the price of 1-liter soda bottles has gone up a lot. Both Pepsi and Coke products used to be $1-$1.25, but now they’re marked at $1.75 each.

Ice

One of my favorite things to grab from Dollar Tree has always been the frozen bagged ice. Now, not all Dollar Tree stores have it, but if yours does, get ready for a shock – the price has gone up to $2.00 per bag!

Helium Balloons

One of my favorite items to buy at Dollar Tree has been the balloons because they are such a great deal to grab for any occasion. However, the price has increased from $1.25 to $1.50 each.

Sunglasses

If going on a vacation and want to grab some cheap sunglasses that, if they break or get lost, you didn’t break the bank. But now they cost $1.50 each instead of $1.

Reading Glasses

Yes, the reading glasses, like the sunglasses, are now being sold for $1.50 per pair.
