Big Lots Announces Over 300 Store Closures

Back in early July, Big Lots dropped the bomb that they were gonna shut down about 40 of its almost 1,400 stores. By the end of July, they expanded that list to nearly 150 stores across 28 states! And guess what? Now Big Lots has said they’re gonna close as many as 315 locations in more than 30 states. Between inflation and a challenging economy, sales are down and the company’s financials are cause for concern. The SEC filing indicates an ongoing apprehension about whether Big Lots can continue to operate, so it isn’t surprising to see the number continue to grow.
